Airtel super singer Junior – Devil’s play
Sons lose , mothers cry, Daughters step down, fathers moan,
The above statement doesnt happen in an ” India Pakistan” match or in any battle field. Folks, this is all about Vijay tv’s Airtel supersinger junior. Finaly the hyped, mocked and pumped up voice war is over yesterday. But the results are yet to be announced, So wait for one more week. Competitions are to kindle the talents and to test the skills and ability. But today the media has hyped a healthy competition into a wealthy money spinner. Further, the parents join hands with the media and make their children feel that its their life’s motive to win this competition. Ok, this is common. Above than this, the parents who are supposed to comfort the kids when they get off the competition, cry along with them making them feel heavy. The point is losing is also a part of life. In a competition of two if A wins B loses and vice versa. If A has the capacity to win, B has the courage to face the loss. But when Parents make the children feel that they have lost the game of their life , their confidence level gets tarnished and they may’nt perform well in the later competitions due to the nervousness. A child learns from it’s parents. But when the kid watches the parents cry, it feels insecure and may need time to recover. So Media exploits the potential children’s childhood by attracting their parents and counts notes. Coming to the next side, the winners are treated as great warriors and they are given “5star” and “cinestar” values and they sing in air, sponsored by a hot FM station sitting alongside a artificial voice making RJ. Apart from these gimmicks, the anchor girl of the program announces the winners by raising their hands as though in a boxing match. Do we need this all? Life is always a series of tough competitions. Though one loses in a competition, the hope he/she has to the innumerable number of competitions which are bound to come in the game of life is important, but not these trivial competitions{though a lot of money is involved}. “If winter comes, can spring be far behind” kind of attitude is what required for today’s world. What do you think?
this is a reality show dude … i ve personally seen many households watching supersinger instead of their usual soaps … the ultimate aim of a tv channel is to make money … even if u start a channel that’ll be ur goal … this is just one sort of it … i dint see the parents crying part but i saw krishnamoorthy’s dad shed ananda kanneer (which is acceptable)
but today in supersinger what i saw was 2 kids dancing for neruppe song from vettaiyadu villaiyadu and at the end they had to hum for the horny noises in the song … pathetic man, this is what has to be avoided
Hi Dinesh
I accept the money factor. But if you had watched this show from the preliminary rounds, you would have noticed a lot of parents crying instead of encouraging the kids. Also peeping into the personal bosom of kids and their families{of course with their permission}would be the worst thing to do. “Feelings and emotions are not for sale”. So apparently there becomes no difference between a weird Serial and a reality show. For that matter any reality show should provide us action and not an emotional auction. I think the action part is more than enough to mint money. As you pointed out the last humming part by the kids, that sums up everything. Kids are doing things which ping out their “childness”. The worst thing is that the boy Sai Sharan who openly said that it was his mother’s “mada muttalthanam” which chose him a wrong song dictating his downfall, after his defeat in the finals was chosen for the best buddies award along with his mother.
they ve made it dramatic intentionally … but at the end it all ended well and i remember the sai charan incident when he scolded his mom … that one should have been cut but they wantedly retained it for making it dramatic … i hated that …
its just money that matters … the other day for an interview with the hindu gangai amaren was completely against the super singer junior … quoting that kids shouldnt be discouraged this way
Hi all,
I too agree that it is the money that matters…But beyond everything we need to think of the fact that , the talents of the kids is brougth out…a player/sportsman/a participant shoud have the mentality to accept the reality that only one among the entire could be considered as a winner…The matter is not winning or losing, its the spirit of participation that matters… Parents just make fuss when they send they send their to aprticipate in shows of this sort…Its really disgusting..
Children should be brought up to accept both failure and success…They Tv shows may be run for commercial purposes, but children should take this aas an opportunity to exhibit their talents… That would be t real spirt…am sure that most of the children who participate in these sort of shows are well matured and it would be better if their parents could be mere spectators/boosters…they shoud control their emotions when they come out for TV shows…
But sure that the real talents are brougth out and hats off to all the participants and winners of the show….
